So, today I was a test subject in a Psych experiment. Kinda cool result. The study was as follows: First, I had to enter into a computer a couple names. Someone I love/loves me, someone I feel unaccepted by, an artist I like, an artist/politician I don't like. Then, shapes were flashed in front of me, and for each one, I had to as quickly as I could pick whether the shape had a dashed or solid border. You know, game style. Thing is, maybe five shapes into the "game", I noticed words popping up very quickly on the screen. For just a split second or so. Well, one word specifically. Dalai Lama. Every four shapes or so. I keep going, finish in record time in my own estimation, and am made to feel like some sort of super-spy at my "debriefing". Here's the cool part. The guy asks me: "so, did you notice anything odd while taking the test?" "Yes, sir, I did. I noticed you pounding the word Dalai Lama into my face at Warp Ten," I mutter through Warp Ten splattered face. "Um, you saw that? Dang. You weren't supposed to see that. It's supposed to be subliminal." And the tester goes on to explain, this test has been given to two-hundred people so far. So far, only 3 have noticed the subliminal messages. "Do you play video games a lot?" the tester asks me. Ha. Ha ha ha. Turns out, people who play video games a lot have a much higher sight to comprehension speed. Aka: cannot be subliminally affected. At least not at normal speeds. The effect doesn't work if the person's just reading. My results had to be thrown out, but I still got credit. The experiment's result in my eyes? "You, Danny, are an official gamer, since birth. Proven by science and also by God. Proven by scores of hot girls flocking to your door. Proven also, that your last conclusion... was completely made up by you."
