Super Put-Together - 1:54 a.m. 02.11.2004
Today, we are beginning the final stage of a project 14 years in the making. Possibly, quite possibly, the longest project ever in the area in which it exists.

Fourteen years ago, at the age of roughly six years old, Matt and I began designing a game. A video game, for the NES.
We'd planned to ship it off to a real producer and have our game made. We'd plotted out intricate plot lines and well designed villians. Heros I remember well to this day.

Well designed, original villians like "King Koopa", for instance. A villian which my dad, at the time, told me was "already created". But, what does he know? "Ours is a different King Koopa!" (Duh!)

Amazing levels like "Garbage Land" and "Poop Land" and "Magnet Land" and "Other Land". Using game mechanics very similar to Megaman 1, or any other Megaman since, for that matter.
But, you know. "Ours is different!" Themed-worlds-with-themed-enemies, with-weapons-to-win-after-defeating-them different. Way different.

Epic heros like "Super Put-Together". And epic boss badguys to the game, like... "Super Put-Together". He was both the hero and the main bad guy. Maybe an evil twin or a clone or some unfortunate same name problem, though I don't really recall.

To document these brilliant ideas, we made a paper. A single piece of handwritten facts, on computer paper. Detailing the heros' names, enemies' names, and level names. Then, to ensure we didn't lose the paper (or get it stolen?), we copied that paper in Matt's fax machine. We copied it over three-hundred times.
Needless to say, the plan worked flawlessly. Copies turn up, to this day, in every unopened drawer of my room.

Now, however, I have the abilities to implement this game, I think. Two characters, side scrolling, one guy sword, one guy bow and arrows. A few levels. I fully intend to follow through with our original intentions and rip off everything we first meant to. A few original levels, and one with King Koopa "different".

If long development means high quality, start looking forward to this game right now.
